Gareth Knell founded GK Plumbing & Heating in 1995. He joined a local plumbing and heating company aged 16, as an apprentice, and worked for them for 8 years, before deciding to go it alone.
In 2001, after a few years of working solo, he decided to expand the company and employ engineers. The business carried on in a similar vein until wife Kelly, joined the team in 2005. They now operate and run the business together, with Kelly providing essential team support, both to the engineers and to the business as a whole. She is also the project manager and direct customer contact on all large installations, especially bathrooms.
During the 15 years GK Plumbing and Heating has been operating, the team have undertaken a large variety of different installations. From straightforward bathroom and boiler replacements; to larger domestic heating and bathroom installations; to several large commercial plumbing ventures. Altogether the team have over 50 years experience in plumbing and heating, thus making GK one of the most experienced local plumbing and heating companies around. They can confidently carry out the installation of any boiler or bathroom suite, provide solutions to plumbing and heating problems, as well as offering advise on a variety of plumbing and heating matters, be it energy efficiency or bathroom design.
As a company, GK are Gas Safe and OFTEC registered, thus allowing them to work on and install gas, LPG and oil appliances. They are also members of the Guild of Master Craftsman, which supports and promotes excellence for a variety of trades. Plus, they have full public liability insurance of up to £1 million.
